Crafting

The crafting recipe for half barrels is currently unavailable. You can obtain them through other means (shown below).

Half Barrels comes in all 16 base Minecraft colors.
Two Half Barrels can be crafted with 1 Barrel, 1 Shears and 1 Dye of the chosen color.

Obtaining
You can also obtain a Half-Barrel by right-clicking a Barrel or Western Barrel with Shears.

Recoloring
You can re-dye.

get other color half barrels by recoloring the white or brown half barrels, or recoloring any existing half barrel to the new color. Combine 1 half barrel and one dye of the chosen color in a crafting table.

Placement
Right-click a block with a half barrel in hand to place it on the ground. Unlike troughs, half barrels to not be a quick fix and requires testing. It is plannedconnect to beadjacent incorporatedwater toitems. 1.16 and future 1.18 versions when it is stable.

Half Barrels can hold 3 buckets of water.water Right-clickand are ideal for horse stalls. If a halflarger barrelcontainer withis aneeded bucketfor use by multiple horses, troughs can hold up to 4-16 buckets of water.

Filling & Use
Water troughs can hold four buckets of water inper handindividual totroughs. emptyWhen it intofilled the barrel. Alternatively, use a Spigot to fill your barrels easily without going back and forth between a water source or needing multiple buckets. 

The water level will gradually rise until it is near the brim, at which point the barrel contains the maximum amount of water.

• Right-click a half barrel with a water bucket to add it to the trough
• Right-click a SWEMspigot placed above a half barrel 
• Rain will slowly fill an uncovered half barrel over time

Horses will drink from accessible half barrels and troughs when thirsty.

When drinking from a half barrel, horses willThey consume 1 bucket per use but may take multiple drinks in a short space of time, quickly depleting the contents. As they drink, the water levels will visibly decrease to reflect the current volume.
