Obtaining

Crafting
Saddlebags can be crafted in all 16 base minecraft colors.
A saddlebag requires 4 Refined Leather, 3 wool in a corresponding color and 1 chest.

Usage

Saddle bags are an optional (functional) accessory addition to any tack set. The saddle is supposed to be a pre-requisite (required) item to use it.

Right click a tamed SWEM Horse with a saddle bag in hand to equip it - or open the horse's GUI menu (shift + right click with an empty hand) to place the item in the designated tack spot. If a horse already has a saddle bag on, you can easily 'hotswap' it for another by shift + right-clicking with the new breast collar in hand. Saddlebags can be combined with any other riding tack pieces to mix English, Western & Adventure. 

Tack-equip order:  Bridle > Blanket > Saddle > Girth Strap. Optional: Breast collar, Leg Wraps, Horse Armor, Saddle Bag

 

Storage

Saddle bags offer storage for the most useful items needed on any adventure. The 31 slots (excluding 1 miscellaneous) are pre-set and can only take a certain object type within it. To open the inventory, press K (default keybind) while mounted on a SWEM Horse that is equipped with a saddlebag.saddle bag.

Saddle bags have a retaining inventory (items are stored 'within' the saddlebagsaddle bag even if it is removed) so they can safely be removed and re-equipped between uses - allowing you to have a go-bag ready for those last-minute adventures! [See known issues] 

If using SWEM + Callable horses, it is recommended you reconfigure CH's K keybind to avoid a potential conflict crash.

Known Issues

  • [Always] Saddlebags with previously stored items do not display their retained contents unless the saddle bag is equipped via the horse GUI (not when right-click equipped)
  • [Always] Armor cannot be 'hotswapped' like other tack pieces.
  • [Always] Saddle bag does not require any tack to be equipped - should be dependent on saddle.
  • [Always] Bale slot does not currently accept newer SWEM bales (alfalfa, timothy) or any bale slabs.
