Usage

Hitching posts function very much like fences when right clicked with a lead (vanilla or SWEM lead & anchor) and have equestrian-friendly designs for various purposes. Mini versions are available and can be placed on the ground, fences or walls. SWEM hitching posts have a custom connection added, so the loops of custom hitching does not have the vanilla rope knot texture.

Right click a hitching post while holding an attached lead to connect the entity's lead to the hitch. Multiple entities can be connected to a single hitching post if enough leads are owned. Right click the hitching post again to disconnect - the lead(s) will drop on the ground nearby.

Cross ties (SWEM Horse only) can connect to two hitching posts - disconnecting will drop 2 leads instead.

Known Issues

  • [-] Hitching posts (all large variants) do not drop when broken in survival. Mini versions work as expected.
  • [-] Hitching posts (all large variants) do not drop when exploded by TNT. Mini versions work as expected.
  • [-] Mini pasture hitching posts are oak instead of whitewash.
  • [-] When using cross ties and untying the horse, 1 cross tie appears to still have a small rope connection. This is purely visual and does not affect the function of the item. Right click the hitching post to clear the connected blockstate.
  • [-] Cross ties on hitching post drop 2 vanilla leads if lead and anchors were used (part of a bug relating to lead and anchors not being consumed on use).
