A Halter can be crafted in all 16 base minecraft colors.
Each Halter requires 1 Iron Ingot and 4 Carpets of the Corresponding Color.

Usage

TamedHalters are a cosmetic item for SWEM Horses can wear Halters. This is done by right-clicking the horse while holding the Halter, or placing it in the Halter inventory slot of the SWEM Horse's inventory.Bridle-Slot-Horse.pngBy default the equip order for a SWEM Horse's tack is Bridle or Halter, Blanket, Saddle, and Girth Strap. These

Right the required tack pieces in order to properly controlclick a tamed SWEM Horse. with a blanket in hand to equip it - or open the horse's GUI menu (shift + right click with an empty hand) to place the item in the designated tack spot. The halter uses the same tack slot as the bridle, so both cannot be used at the same time.

The halter can no longer be used interchangeably with a bridle and cannot 'steer' or control the movement of horses. It used to be possible to swap a bridle out for a halter and ride normally in Beta and early release.
