Horses can be obtained from:
- Natural Spawning CONFIGS LINK
- Spawn Egg
- Command
/swemlite summonto view all valid coat options
Natural Spawns
Naturally spawning horses appear in many overworld biomes with herds of 1-5, commonly adults but occasionally foals. Each herd uses one "color tag" (out of 7 possible) and spawn coats that share that tag, usually resulting in somewhat similar coat types.
Wild horses are untamed until ridden by a player.
Spawn Eggs
Spawn eggs are a creative menu or command only item. It spawns one horse with a random coat variant and gender.
Summon Command
Lite does not support random coat option via commands. If you require a random option, use spawn eggs.
Summon commands require cheats enabled and relevant user permissions (multiplayer).
- Commands must use a valid coat ID
- Only
swem:IDs are visible if there is no valid community pack loaded - Choosing
MALEorFEMALEis optional. If unspecified it is assigned a random gender.
EXAMPLE: /swemlite summon swem:helios_arishant OR /swemlite summon swem:helios_arishant FEMALE
Appearance
Lite does not include any complex coat genetics, breeds or model variants (custom models excluded).
Horses select from 100+ default adult coats (listed here). Additional adult coats can be added via community packs.
Foals select from 21 options that correspond to 7 color tags, each with 3 variants. Foals do not support community pack coats.

Behavior
Horses spend most of their time in idle wandering, occasionally with shaking, scratching or tail flicking animations. They do not eat or drink even if tamed so will not engage in any "mob griefing" behaviors with grass or water sources.
Horses are passive, but may retaliate if harmed or during taming attempts. Bucking horses can harm nearby players and mobs.
Horses can trigger a fatal "buck off" if a horse kicks out at another (kicks back etc). It's not an intentional risk but it is possible.
Gender
Right-click tamed horses to open their inventory display. The icon in the bottom right indicates gender and breeding status.
