# Bushels

**Description:** A bushel is an item used for crafting various Bales (including [Quality Bale](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/star-worm-equestrian-mod/page/bales)) and [Sweet Feed](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/star-worm-equestrian-mod/page/sweet-feed "Sweet Feed"). It comes in Timothy, Oat, and Alfalfa.

#### **Obtaining**

**Seeds** When broken, grass has a small chance (similar to wheat seeds) of dropping seeds for Timothy, Alfalfa and Oats.

**Crops &amp; Bushels** Timothy, Alfalfa and Oat seeds can be planted on farmland (tilled grass/dirt) just like normal minecraft crops. After some time, they will grow into a 1-block high grass like crop that can be broken to harvest and yields 1 bushel of the corresponding type and a random number of seeds.

**Uncrafting** At the small cost of 1 string per bale, converting bushels into bales is a space efficient (inventory) way of storing dried forage. Alternately, the bales can be placed down as a physical stockpile of food for immersion of requiring space to store food for animal consumption and restocking when supply runs low. If bushels are required, the Alfalfa, Timothy and Oat slabs can be broken back down into their component bushels (4 bushels per bale).
