# Amethyst Pickaxe

**Description:** An Amethyst Pickaxe is a tool that increases durability, efficiency and allows repairing.

#### **Benefits**

Amethyst tools have +400 durability over Minecraft Netherite tools (with the added benefit of non-mending repair options). All Amethyst tools have Efficiency 2 as part of their core abilities, though they can be enchanted further.

<p class="callout info">**Efficiency II:** Increased mining speed when used on an appropriate block (ie Axes &gt; Wood or Pickaxes &gt; Stone).</p>

**Enchanting**  
Amethyst Pickaxes can be used in an enchanting table or combined with enchanting books in an anvil (vanilla or cantazarite).

#### **Repair**

Durability is decreased with use (mining etc) like with normal tools.

Amethyst Pickaxes can be repaired with [Cantazarite](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/star-worm-equestrian-mod/page/cantazarite "Cantazarite") using a [Cantazarite Anvil](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/star-worm-equestrian-mod/page/cantazarite-anvil).

- **\[-\]** Tools are OP in attack stats, making weapons (like the longsword) defunct.
- **\[-\] 1.18** Tools cannot be repaired in Cantazarite anvil - mending enchantment works. **Fixed in 1.20.1**
