#### **Usage**
Currently all Rosettes & Ribbons are non-functional decor items - they cannot be displayed on a horse for now.
Right-click a vertical block surface with a Rosette, Ribbon or Plaque in hand to place it, or a horizontal block surface for Trophies. Awards can be used for many stable decoration and RRP purposes, we suggest:
- To create awards display cases for your RRP or earned victories
- Decorate stable walls or achievement / memory nooks
- Decorate the front of a successful horse's stall
**Naming**
You can rename Rosettes, Ribbons, Plaques and Trophies as with any other item in an anvil to denote the event name or placing etc, however this will be **reset** on placing the item unless it is in an **item frame.**
**Giftbags** When configured to allow specific items, such as Ribbons, the Star Worm Economy Mod can be used to bundle goodies into an award. This is useful for event hosts to package up prizes within an award - on right clicking the winner will receive all items contained within. **Read more about giftbags in the [SWEconM wiki](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/sweconomy-mod/page/giftbags).**

#### **Trivia**
Ribbons vary a lot, and there seems to be no concrete standards for coloring or features across all countries, events or disciplines. There was some evidence to suggest a basic color theme (see below) for placing 1-8, though this could be customized by the event hosting organisation, the discipline or even the country it was hosted in (such as USA western events popularly using Red, White and Blue, often with stars). For SWEM, the logical decision for inclusive representation of various sports and specialties was to provide all 16 Minecraft colors as standard for basic tiered Rosettes and Ribbons. It would be impossible to do the same for tri-color champion variants, so two very popular color combinations were selected for these.

# Fences
**Description:** SWEM fences come in 3 variants; English, Western & Pasture. These fences can be customised with the fence tool.
---
**Details:**
**Renewable:** | Yes |
**Stackable:**
| Yes (64) |
**Tool:** | Axe (Any) |
**Blast Resistance:** | N/A |
**Hardness:** | N/A |
**Luminant:** | N/A |
**Transparent:** | Yes |
**Flammable:** | No |
**Flammable (Lava):** | No |
---
#### **Obtaining**
**Crafting**
English
English fences come in a single (black & white) color.
4 English fences can be crafted with 3 Planks (any), 2 Sticks and 1 Black Dye.

Western
Western fences come in 6 Minecraft wood types, plus Whitewash.
8 western fences can be crafted with 6 Planks (chosen wood type), 1 Slab and 1 Stick.

Pasture
Pasture fences come in 6 Minecraft wood types, plus Whitewash.
8 pasture fences can be crafted with 6 Planks (chosen wood type) and 2 Sticks.

---
#### **Usage**
SWEM fences are similar to (vanilla) Minecraft fences in all but one way. Just like Minecraft fences, they are technically 1.5b tall, meaning entities cannot step or jump over them. They are recognized as a barrier, so cannot be pathed through and will contain entities within it. Unlike Minecraft fences, SWEM fences can be altered between a full-fence and a half-fence (cut down) state. This cutting down of fences can be achieved using a [Fence Tool](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/star-worm-equestrian-mod/page/fence-tool). This can be used in many ways:
- Short dressage or competition arena borders
- 1.5 Height pasture fences (1 high fences look really short compared to SWEM horses)
- A variety of decorative ideas including hooks and light posts
- \[English\] Framing stall windows, dividers and overhang support
**Western Fence** Western fences have a full-height straight panel across the top of it, with two thinner support panels lower on the fence. When a corner is created, western fences have an interesting diagonal post design. Right-click a western fence with a [fence tool](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/star-worm-equestrian-mod/page/fence-tool) in hand to cut down.
**Pasture Fence** Pasture fences are visually very similar to Minecraft fences, but with slightly sturdier (thicker) panels and a half-fence version. Right-click a pasture fence with a [fence tool](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/star-worm-equestrian-mod/page/fence-tool) in hand to cut down.
**English Fence** English fences are unlike any other SWEM or Minecraft fence. They have a white-framed panel design with black painted wood bars. They come in edge or connector pieces (no corner) and often require use of the fence tool. English fences are sensitive to direction, so you may need to move around to place the corners in the right direction **or** use the fence tool:
- **Shift + Right-click:** Rotate a corner section to a different direction
- **Right-click:** Toggle between corner and connector designs
English fences cannot connect around a corner like normal fences, so a post made from blocks would be recommended for pastures using English fences.
English fences are not 1.5b like other fences, and can be jumped unless designed to be double height.
---
#### **Gallery**

# Friendly Bars
**Description:** Friendly Bars are a block that can be used for decoration, similar to vanilla iron bars.
---
**Details:**

#### **Obtaining**
**Crafting**
Friendly bars come in 3 colors; light (light gray), medium (gray) and dark (black).
32 friendly bars can be crafted with 4 Iron Ingots, 4 Iron Nuggets and 1 Dye of the chosen color, as shown below. Light friendly bars can use either white or light gray dye.
**Light** | **Medium** | **Dark** |

|
|
|
---
#### **Usage**
Friendly bars are primarily for decoration and provide a fun and less prison-y look to bars compared to vanilla versions. They can be used in many ways to decorate your stable or other types of builds. We suggest:
- As safe alternatives to glass for allowing light and ventilation into your stalls
- Combined with walls or blocks to make unique fence variations for your property, pastures or arenas
**Placement** Like vanilla bars, the shape of friendly bars depends on the blocks surrounding them. If no blocks are adjacent to them, they will have a slender appearance as there is nothing for them to connect to. Friendly bars will connect to full blocks and wall blocks, but do not connect to fences or partial blocks (stairs, slabs) without the use of a debug stick in creative.

**Shown:** Combined friendly bars versus single friendly bars.

Hitching posts function like fences when right clicked with a lead, and have an equestrian-style designs for various purposes. Mini versions are shorter and ideal for placing on the ground and atop fences or walls.
Right click a hitching post while holding an attached lead to connect the entity's lead to the hitch. Multiple entities can be connected to a single hitching post if enough leads are owned. Right click the hitching post again to disconnect - the lead(s) will drop on the ground nearby. SWEM hitching posts have a custom connection added, so the loops of custom hitching does not show the vanilla rope knot texture.
Cross ties ([SWEM Horse](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/star-worm-equestrian-mod/page/swem-horse) only) can connect to two hitching posts - disconnecting will drop 2 leads.

#### **Usage**
Currently all Horse Toys are non-functional decor blocks - but plan to have features implemented in future!
Horse toys are primarily for decoration. Right-click the ground with a toy in hand to place it, or against a wall or suspended block for hanging items. Toys can be used for many stable decoration and RRP purposes, we suggest:
- Add enrichment to a stable with hanging treats or salt licks.
- Add enrichment to pastures with jolly balls, slow feeders and brushes - the latter is great for cow paddocks too!
- Clutter for your shelves, storage cupboards or equine stores.
**Toy** | **Placement** | **Description** |
Scratchy Pole | Ground | A 2 block high bristled brush for animals to scratch up against. |
Jolly Ball | Ground | A rubber or plastic ball with a handle for horses to pick up and carry or throw around. |
Jolly Ball (Hay) | Hanging | A jolly ball with cutouts to stuff with hay or treats for horses to slowly work out to eat. |
Jolly Apple Snack | Hanging | A hanging apple-shaped toy with a lick block and ball to engage horses. |
Slow Feeder Ball | Ground | A 1 block ball with cutouts to stuff with hay or treats. |
Treats on a string | Hanging | A hanging string with treats threaded onto it. |

# Locker
**Description:** A locker is an inventory item that can hold up to 36 item, split between 2 locker sides.
---
**Details:**
**Renewable:** | Yes |
**Stackable:**
| Yes (64) |
**Tool:** | Pickaxe (Any) |
**Blast Resistance:** | N/A |
**Hardness:** | N/A |
**Luminant:** | No |
**Transparent:** | No |
**Flammable:** | No |
**Flammable (Lava):** | No |
---
#### **Obtaining**
**Crafting** Lockers come in a single (silver) color.
2 lockers can be crafted with 4 Iron Nuggets and 2 Chests.

---
#### **Usage**
Lockers do not have retaining inventories. If broken, all items within will drop (like a vanilla chest).
Place a locker by right clicking against another block - lockers can be placed on the ground, on the wall or on top of other blocks. Lockers take up a single block in height and are 0.5B in depth.
Lockers have **two** separate sides. Right clicking the left and right sides will open a different inventory. The GUI states 'Left Locker' or 'Right Locker' at the top to indicate which side is being viewed. Each side offers 2 rows (18 slots) to store items in.

**Lock (Restricted Access)** Lockers can be locked to a single player each side by the locker owner.
- Lockers are owned by the player who places it; only the owner can break, lock or unlock the locker.
- Lockers are accessible to **all** by default - unless protected by a lock or a landclaim (mods like FTBChunks).
- Lockers can have two unique locks (two different players) between the left and right sides, or have one locked, one open.
- Lockers can be opened by the owner, even if locked to a player.
- Lockers can be opened by OPs and those with the mod perm key, even if locked to a player.
- **Lockers can have their locks changed at any time by the owner, even if there are items stored within.**
To lock a locker, rename a nametag in an anvil to the desired player's **exact** name and place it into the nametag slot in the top right corner of the locker GUI. This name must be correct to capitals and symbols, and the side the nametag is placed into with determine which locker side is locked to the chosen player. To restrict the locker to the owner, follow the same steps, specifying the owner's name instead.

Landclaim mods restrict access to inventories and will (default) prevent players accessing lockers, even if unlocked/locked.

#### **Usage**
Rubber matting is primarily for decoration and provides comfortable and realistic footing to SWEM horses and other entities. At present it is purely cosmetic and has no function or benefit to the SWEM horse outside of RRP. They can be used in many ways to decorate your stable or other types of builds. We suggest:
- Realistic and welfare conscious footing for horse stalls
- Non-slip flooring for wash stalls and tackup areas

#### **Obtaining**
**Crafting** Separators can be crafted in all 16 base minecraft colors.
8 Separators requires 4 Iron Nuggets, 1 Dye of the corresponding color and 1 Stick.

---
#### **Usage**
Separators can be used for decoration, especially as a stall dividers.
**Placement**
Separators only join together going in one direction and they do not merge at intersections like fences so they are best used between block or wall posts. Separators do not automatically connect to any adjacent blocks **except** for other separators of the same color.

**Shown:** Separators do not join at L intersections (no corner connections like bars).
**Connecting edges**
Separators have 4 different block states; rounded edges (both), left edge, right edge and middle section. These can all be toggled with the [Fence Tool](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/star-worm-equestrian-mod/page/fence-tool) (right click). This also allows players to 'connect' different color separators together.

**Shown (L-R):** Normal separator and separators with edge-changes from a fence tool.

2 Stall Doors (Horse) can be crafted with 2 Bars (vanilla or [friendly bars](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/swequestrian-mod/page/friendly-bars)) and 4 Wood Planks of the chosen color.

Stall Doors come in 7 vanilla wood types, and 2 size variants.
2 Stall Doors (Care) can be crafted with 3 Bars (vanilla or [friendly bars](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/swequestrian-mod/page/friendly-bars)) and 6 Wood Planks of the chosen color.

---
#### **Usage**
These doors can be opened and closed by right-clicking.
**Placement** Stall Doors can be placed by right-clicking with a Stall Door in hand on the ground or against a vertical block face. The placement will alter the hinge side - hinge side will always be on the right-clicked position.
Stall doors are **front facing** so will always sit on the edge of a block space and do not seamlessly connect to fences, walls, chains, bars or separators. They are best placed between solid block pillars. The stall door will place on the front-edge of a block closest to you:
- To get a stall door that opens **in** to a stall you will need to place it from the front of the stall.
- To get a stall door that opens **out** from a stall you will need to place it from inside the stall.
Stall doors will not open if obstructed by items or blocks placed 2-3 blocks (depending on door size) behind the hinge corner. The exception to this is shavings - the door will **delete** any shavings in its open position.
Stall Doors are not redstone sensitive and cannot be opened by a redstone signal (including buttons and levers).

1 Web Guard (Horse) can be crafted with 2 Iron Nuggets, 2 Dried Kelp and 1 Dye of the chosen color.

1 Web Guard (Care) can be crafted with 2 Iron Nuggets, 2 Dried Kelp and 1 Dye of the chosen color.

#### **Usage**
These 'doors' can be opened and closed by right-clicking.
**Placement** Web Guards can be placed by right-clicking with a web guard in hand on the ground or against a vertical block face. The placement will alter the hinge side - hinge side will always be on the right-clicked position.
These 'doors' are also only 1 block high. If placed at ground level horses and other entities can step over them. To function as a barrier to all but the smallest 1 block tall entities, they must be placed one block up.
Web guards are **front facing** so will always sit on the edge of a block space and do not seamlessly connect to fences, walls, chains, bars or separators. They are best placed between solid block pillars. The stall door will place on the front-edge of a block closest to you:

16 Grates can be crafted with 5 Iron Ingots and 4 bars (vanilla or [friendly](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/swequestrian-mod/page/friendly-bars)).

---
#### **Usage**
Grates function the same as a vanilla trapdoor, they can be right-click placed at the top or bottom of a block space, opened or closed and waterlogged. Grates can be used for many stable decoration and RRP purposes, we suggest:
- Drains in wash stalls and stalls
- Concealed access to hidden water sources

# Flight Feather
**Description:** Flight feather is a magical item obtained from [Amethyst Horse Armor](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/swequestrian-mod/page/horse-armor#bkmrk-obtaining-12).
---
**Details:**
**Rarity color:** | Common |
**Renewable:** | Yes |
**Stackable:** | No |
**Durability:** | 40 Uses |
---
#### **Obtaining**
**Crafting** Flight Feathers come in a single (purple and white) color.
A flight feather can be crafted with (any) [Amethyst-tier Horse Armor](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/swequestrian-mod/page/horse-armor#bkmrk-obtaining-12) and Shears.

This recipe returns the armor and shears as well as yielding a single feather. Horse armor can only be sheared **once**.
Flight Feathers **cannot** be crafted if the [recipe config](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/swequestrian-mod/page/recipe-config) is set to permit only creative or commands (disable crafting recipe).
---
#### **Usage**
Right-clicking with a flight feather in hand launches the holder 11 blocks up into the air. Each use has ~15 second cooldown. This cooldown effect is applied across **all** feathers the player has or picks up.
The flight feather is intended to be combined with [Amethyst Riding Boots](https://wiki.swequestrian.com/books/swequestrian-mod/page/riding-boots#bkmrk-obtaining-4) (slow fall) or Elytra, which will prevent taking fall damage on descent. This quick upwards propulsion could be used to escape from holes, climb sheer terrain faces or scale obstacles as well as make speedy vertical escape from an attack by hostile mob(s) in a survival situation.
Flight feathers have a limited number (40) of uses. The lifespan of feathers can be extended with [Unbreaking](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Unbreaking) and [Mending](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Mending) enchantments.
